From year to year, both the number and variety of teams fielded by Chicago Jazz changes based upon the ages, number, and testing levels of skaters that tryout in the spring.   For the 2017 – 2018 season, Chicago Jazz will be fielding the following teams:

 

Junior:   A team of 12-16 skaters. Skaters must be at least 13 years old and under 19. All skaters must have passed the novice moves in the field test. At this level, the team is responsible for two programs  – a short (2:50 minutes) and a long program (4:00 minutes).  They are judged based on the International Judging System.

 

 

Intermediate:  A team of 12-20 skaters. Skaters must be under 18 and have passed the juvenile moves in the field test.  At this level, the team is responsible for a single program (3:30 minutes).  They are judged based on the International Judging System.

 

 

 

Juvenile:   A team of 12-20 skaters. Skaters must be under 13 and have passed the pre-juvenile moves in the field test.At this level, the team is responsible for a single program (3:00 minutes).  They are judged based on the International Judging System.

 

 

 

 

Pre-Juvenile:   A team of 8-16 skaters. The majority of the team must be under 12. They are responsible for a single 2:15 minute program and are judged on the 6.0 System.

 

 

 

 

Synchro Skills:   A team of 8-16 skaters. No skaters may have passed higher than a preliminary test. They are responsible for a single 2:10 minute program and are judged on the 6.0 System.
